Crypto Hackers Have Stolen $1.9 Billion so Far in 2022, Says Chainalysis

Around $1.9 billion worth of digital tokens were stolen by hackers from the beginning of the year through July, according to blockchain analysis firm, Chainalysis.
This is up 58 percent from the same time last year, as decentralized cryptocurrency DiFi protocols have become increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks.
DeFi protocols, with cross-chain bridges in particular, are used to transfer tokens across blockchains, which have suffered several large cyber hacks this year.
“This trend doesn’t appear set to reverse any time soon, with a $190 million hack of cross-chain bridge Nomad and $5 million hack of several Solana wallets already occurring in the first week of August,” said Chainalysis….
