Former President Donald Trump’s indictment in New York City is a “sad day for American justice” and should be dismissed on legal grounds, according to legal analyst, Paul Kamenar.
Kamenar is the lead counsel for the National Legal and Policy Center. He joins Larry Elder to discuss the Trump indictment.
The charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg are based on a “thin” case that seeks to single out Trump, Kamenar says, adding that the charges appear to be politically motivated. The indictment, which alleges that Trump’s company and its CFO committed multiple counts of fraud, is likely to interfere with the 2024 presidential campaign. Kamenar also criticizes Bragg for “weaponizing” law enforcement to target political enemies, and suggested that the charges should be dismissed on legal and selective prosecution grounds….
